Creswell’s Outer Banks Speedway is a 1/8 mile long racing strip, constructed from concrete with the same flexible strength as used in today’s airports. While Creswell’s Outer Banks Speedway is a popular spot for automotive competitions, it is not actually located on the Outer Banks Islands. Located at 426 Benson Road in Creswell, North Carolina it is about one hour west of Manteo, North Carolina on the outer banks islands.
The Outer Banks speedway is capable of housing over 10,000 spectators and accommodating 600 race car rigs. The track offers a racing surface which is 50 foot wide (25 foot per lane) and 2400 foot long, plus 1740 foot of shut down area. The concrete is six inches thick throughout. Designed as a perfect competitive track, stock cars as well as dragsters can count on a “level racing surface” here. Spectators can count on a lot of excitement, fast cars and clean family entertainment. Check on their website or with locals to find out when a race competition is scheduled.
