Outer Banks Camping is one of the most enjoyable activities for those who enjoy the outdoors. Camping in the outer banks area is so popular that even though there are multiple camp grounds, you must arrive early as National Parks are first come, first served.  If camping in a private campground reservations are recommended. If you wish to camp through a holiday weekend reserving in advance is a must.

Camping offers you the opportunity to truly enjoy the outdoor environment of Outer Banks camping. Breezes from the water will keep you comfortable and camp fires encourage friendships among strangers. Vacationers from across the country enjoy the camping community and who knows you may make a lifelong friend at Outer Banks Camping areas.

National Parks Service campgrounds open on April 1 of each year, with the exception of Cape Point Campground which opens on May 27.  None of the NPS campgrounds boast of hot water, all suggest mosquito repellent and extra long stakes for tent campers.  All of the campgrounds have a dump station, grills and picnic tables.
